The rest of Chapter One · Nov 23, 01:07 AM by Scott McNulty
I posted the first nugget of Chapter One awhile ago, and now I give you the finish of Chapter One:
This illicted more crying, so I embraced Ingrid once again because that’s the kind of guy that I am. After much crying (not all of it Ingrid’s I must admit. You see the air in my apartment was very dusty after all the commotion of the move, so a few pieces of dust must have found their way into both my eyes and caused a momentary watering of the eyes. Perfectly natural, and not at all wuss like) we came to an agreement. Next week we would move her out of my apartment and she would try and stopping loving this other fellow. What could go wrong with that plan?
Fast forward 2 years. Ingrid had decided I was the dude for her, and so I moved to Philadelphia to be closer to her (since that whole moving in debacle Ingrid was a little guy shy about moving again). Things went fine for 6 months or so, therefore I won’t bore you with the details. Picture puppy dogs and butterflies frolicing in fields while violins play in the background and that will give you an idea of how those months were.
I didn’t know that the field with the frolicing doggies was actually a toxic waste dump, and those weren’t puppies at all but giant flesh eating rats destined to overrun all civilian defenses and pillage the countryside in a drunken orgy of fur and teeth. Looking back it all seems so obvious.
Ingrid had found her ideal mate, and sadly, it wasn’t me.
That’s how I found myself single, in Philadelphia, and with nothing but a blog and a smile.
